Giza is famous for being that part of Cairo closest to the world-famous Pyramids of Giza, located at an altitude of the desert plateau directly to the west of the urban area, and located itself in the valley and centered around the Pyramids Road, connecting central Cairo with ancient wonders.
Giza is a governorate located to the west of the Egyptian capital Cairo - a city in itself, but for a long time, it is now absorbed as part of the densely populated and sprawling city of Cairo.
Tourists are allowed to enter all three great pyramids, for a fee of course. That is, you can go to the Great Pyramid of Cheops, the Pyramid of Khafre, and the Menkaure Pyramid as long as you pay for the ticket.
