There is one daily flight between Muscat and Khasab operated by Oman Air. The flight takes just over an hour and arrives at the tiny airport of Khasab that is nestled between the dramatic Hajar Mountains. You can also go by public ferry to Musandam, it is cheaper than the flight, but it takes a lot longer. Note that there is no direct ferry from Muscat.
There is a wide range of accommodation in Musandam. You can find a dive center that has a guesthouse and offer dive packages with meals. Or you can stay at a 3, 4, or 5-star hotels. Atana Musandam is a reasonably priced 4-star hotel located in Khasab and situated right on the water. Atana Musandam is centrally located for all the sites and a great place to have a few drinks while taking in the beautiful scenery. There is another hotel by the name of Atana Musandam, so you may get results for both when doing an online search. Both are reasonably good hotels but distance is the differentiating factor.
Oman is more of a bubble when it comes to the situations occurring in neighboring countries. It is highly recommended for solo travelers especially girls. Oman is one of the top 10 travel destinations in the Arab World not only because of its natural beauty but because of its humble and helpful people.
