Tourism in Siwa
Siwa Oasis offers a variety of things to do, places to visit, and unique attractions, including:

Mountain of the Dead
About 2 km from the center of Siwa Oasis, you can find the Mountain of the Dead, a rocky hill that contains more than 1500 tombs dating back to the Pharaonic era. Some of the tombs from the Greco-Roman period were decorated with beautiful and ornate drawings. Don't forget to climb to the top of the mountain to get the perfect Oasis view.

Cleopatra’s pool
Head over to the serene Cleopatra lake, which is considered one of the best natural pools and provides an opportunity for snorkeling and is surrounded by several shops and cafes.

Shali
Shali city is located in the Siwa Oasis, meaning "the old city" in the Siwa language. Legend says that the castle was built by forty men, to protect them from enemies. It has been built of a substance called "Karshev", salt stones from salt lakes and silt. Shali is now a tourist attraction, as visitors climb up the hill so they can get a view of dates and olive groves that stretch out for miles in each direction of the Siwa Oasis.

The Temple of the Oracle
Head over to the Oracle Temple, which has various names, such as the Temple of Amun and the Alexander Temple, dating back to the 6th century BC. It is located in the town of Aghurmi, about 4 kilometers south of Siwa and it is considered one of the most important monuments of the Siwa Oasis.

Fatnas Island
Fatnas Island is an island surrounded by palm trees in the middle of Lake Siwa. It is an ideal spot to watch the amazing sunset and enjoy it. Hot springs are a popular attraction on this island, where you can swim and enjoy the benefits of the healing water, as well as restaurants and cafes.

Siwa House Museum
The Siwa House Museum, which is located in the heart of Siwa Oasis, is a perfect place for art and history lovers, as it is designed in the old style of Siwa houses. This museum gives you a close look at the Siwa people’s customs, traditions and heritage.
Places to Eat in Siwa
Siwa is a small city and the restaurants with a good reputation are known to all locals. Abdu Restaurant, which is considered one of the most popular Siwa restaurants, is a distinguished restaurant serving traditional Egyptian breakfast meals. In addition to the Babenchal restaurant, in the city center, which has a spectacular view of the ancient Shali castle. This restaurant serves one of the best candlelit dinners in town.
